VA-KAY – all I ever wanted!

Subject(s): Lifestyle

lifestyle vacation dogs

Now that summers upon us, it’s time to hit the road for a little R & R.  We all know the best va-kays include our four-legged family members, so we have a few tips for you while traveling with your beloved pets:

Keep Them Safe

Since July is Pet Loss Prevention month, this is a great time to make sure the ID tag on your pet’s collar is up to date.  Since we do live in the 21st century, technology can help our pets from getting lost. Check with your vet for a microchip implant and be sure to register the microchip number.  Also, there are great GPS trackers for pets that connect to your smartphone or other devices.

First Aid Kit

When traveling with our pets, we may remember their favorite toys and treats, but we should also pack a few items just in case they need them.  Our recommendations:

Vetericyn Wound & Infection Treatment

This one-step topical water-based spray cleans wounds, treats infections, and kills bacteria. We love this non-toxic, no-rinse solution which is both steroid-free and antibiotic-free.

Calm, by Vital Planet

This great chewable (with herbs such as chamomile and turmeric) can aid your dog when they are undergoing stress…say like traveling to a new place!

These are our tips, so what about you?  Right now, D.O.G. is running a couple of contests on our Instagram and Facebook pages.  First, we want you to give our followers and us your best tips for traveling with your pet.  Upload your travel suggestions, a photo and better still a video! Followers will vote for best travel tip. Our second contest is a fun quiz to test your knowledge about all things dog!  Both contests will award prizes of D.O.G. products!

Wishing you and your pet’s fun and a sweet, summertime, summertime!
